  • Possible Impact of Inclement Weather on This Week's Graduation Ceremonies

    In view of the forecast of inclement weather during this week of graduation ceremonies for Fauquier County Public Schools, the following plans are in place: Fauquier High School plans to hold graduation Wednesday, May 24, at 6 p.m. on Falcon Field, if possible. A decision will be made by 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the latest, and if the ceremony will be moved into the gymnasium, FHS will announce the decision through its automated phone call system and Twitter account, twitter.com/fauquierhs.

  • Regional Science & Engineering Fair Junior Division Winners Announced

    Eleven middle school students took top honors and cash prizes at the Fourth Annual Regional Science & Engineering Fair, junior division (6th-8 grades), on Saturday, April 29, at Fauquier High School. The fair drew 80 middle school competitors from Fauquier County Public Schools and two private schools, Wakefield and Highland. Keynote speaker was Dr. David Jeck, division superintendent of Fauquier County Public Schools. This year the fair was coordinated by a new director, FCPS biology teacher Chandra Wilkemeyer, who assumed the position this past summer. For the first time the senior division and junior division fairs were held on different dates, March 11 and April 29 respectively.

  • Camp Creation Coming in June

    Fauquier County Public Schools will offer two weeks of “Camp Creation” STEM camps this summer. The four-day camps run from 8 a.m.-noon during the week of June 12-15 at Liberty High School and June 19-22 at Kettle Run High School. Cost is $75 per session per participant. The following camps will be offered June 12-15 at LHS: Elementary K-2nd grade – Lego Storystarter and Mad Science; Elementary grades 3-5 – Lego Robotics, Making Music with Garage Band, and PhotoShop; Grades 3-8 – Minecraft and Drafting Design with 3D Printing; and Middle School – Auto Technology, AgriScience, and VEX Robotics. The following camps will be offered June 19-22 at KRHS: Elementary K-2nd grade – Lego Storystarter and Mad Science; Elementary grades 3-5 – Lego Robotics, Making Music with Garage Band, AgriScience, and PhotoShop; Grades 3-8 – Minecraft and Drafting Design with 3D Printing; and Middle School – Auto Technology, Video Editing, and VEX Robotics.
