Mrs. Charlee King, Assistant Principal
A month into her new position, Charlee King is enjoying her new role as interim assistant principal at Walter Elementary School. Dr. David Jeck, division superintendent, appointed her to the interim position effective Feb. 8, following Lynn Bisek’s departure in late January to become an assistant principal in Prince William County. Bisek had served as the AP at Walter Elementary since August 2013.
“I feel very fortunate to have been selected as interim assistant principal of Mary Walter Elementary School. Over the past few weeks I have been spending a lot of time getting to know the building, the school’s community and the wonderful staff,” Ms. King said. “I have had the opportunity to visit many classrooms as teachers provide a rigorous academic experience for our students. This has been a rewarding experience, and I am positive the remainder of the year will continue to progress smoothly.”
Mrs. King will serve as interim assistant principal until the end of the current school year. She brings 16 years of experience, the past eight and a half at Pierce Elementary School where she most recently co-taught in an inclusion classroom setting working collaboratively to meet the needs of students. In the course of her career Mrs. King has taught students in first grade through 12th grade; she began her career at a private school in Fairfax working with middle and high school at-risk students. Mrs. King completed her undergraduate study at George Mason University and went on to earn a master’s degree in administration from Mary Washington University.
