Representing the Commonwealth of Virginia, two Fauquier High School students, Sam Eleazar (Class of 2013 graduate) and rising senior Matthew Jacobs, won second place in the nation in the National Ford AAA Student Auto Skills Contest June 11 in Dearborn, MI. Daniel M. Phillips, 41, has been selected as the new principal for Greenville Elementary School, effective July 1; the Fauquier County School Board approved his appointment at its regular monthly meeting on June 10. He will replace Margie Riley, who is returning to the classroom next year to teach English at Cedar Lee Middle School. Read more>>

Dominion Virginia Power employee volunteers replaced the roof at the Fauquier County High School Outdoor Laboratory in May. They removed the aging roof and all the wood and material to expose the roof trusses. Then they rebuilt it using about 80 sheets of plywood followed by roofing paper and shingles. Read more>>
