![]() Functional Art 2 (grades 9-11)
Prerequisite: Grade of "C" or better in Functional Art I
This course is a continuation of Functional Art I so that students may focus on more advanced processes within the craft community today. This class will include fibers, ceramics, glass, jewelry, bookmaking, and a variety of other areas. Students will use elements and principles of design as they create their work with special emphasis on surface design. Students will have the opportunity to work on a large scale and concentrate on an area that is of personal interest to the individual. There will be the opportunity for students to research specific processes and their orientation and history. Students will create a journal that will be used for selfevaluation, critique, and planning. Art work, chosen at the discretion of the teacher, will be displayed throughout the term. A $25 materials fee will be charged for this class. |
