Located near Warrenton, Virginia in Fauquier County, our school serves approximately 465 diverse students in grades PreK-5.  Of that number, many participate in programs for the gifted and talented, programs for students who do not speak English as their native language, or are served through special education programs.  Our total minority population is fourteen percent and approximately nine percent of our students receive free or reduced meals.

We pride ourselves on our efforts to meet the needs of all our children.  We are confident that learning occurs for each child with instruction provided at the appropriate levels and with a variety of supports.  We work hard to ensure that all students master grade level standards.  In order to make this growth happen, we find that many of our children need extra time for instruction. We have a schedule providing for thirty minutes daily of I/E "Intervention and Enrichment" time to accelerate the learning of all students.  Kindergarten students rotate through specially designed learning stations each day to reinforce literacy, technology, fine motor, and gross motor skills to give them a strong academic start.

Children benefit from cultural experiences to support their learning. Our fifth graders participate in a variety of outdoor education trips.  We schedule field trips at all grade levels to expose our students to different cultural events.  Students participate in clubs for enrichment and to foster their individual talents including the Ecology Club, the Math Club, the 24 Challenge Club, Battle of the Books, Library Club, Leadership Club, and Flag Corp.

Our scores on the SOLs are strong thanks to the dedicated efforts of our teachers and parents and the hard work of our students.  We are pleased to serve such a fine community of learners. We invite you to open the attached School Improvement Plan for the 2011-12 school year to learn about our goals and strategies to meet those goals.
