Homework Help!

If getting the homework done and turned in on time has become a huge problem in your house, read on!

Many parents have confessed to engaging in battles every night with their child about when homework will be done.  Other parents have told me that their children “forget” to bring the homework home or “forget” to write it down in their student planner.  Still other parents, who are nearly in tears, go to check their child’s homework and find it sloppy or incomplete and then they end up doing more of the homework than their child just to get it done.  Have your children tried to convince you that it’s perfectly OK to work in front of the TV and that cartoons help them think more clearly?  Believe it or not, these are common problems.

There are some great resources available to help parents!  Try some of the following:

  • Read, How to Do Homework Without Throwing Up by Trevor Romain
  • Read, Homework Without Tears by Lee Canter
  • Call Mrs. James for some great strategies that we can personalize for your child
  • Ask Mrs. James to borrow the Parent Pack that is filled with useful books and ideas you can use at home.
  • Here are some good websites to use:
