Son of the Mob
by Gordan Korman

Did you ever think what it might be like being in a family of the mob?  What about if you wanted no part of the "business"? This is what it was like for a boy named Vince Luca.  He wanted a normal legitimate life that did not involve his father's business dealings.  However, even though he tried to do the right things he always would end up in the middle of transactions with some money dealings of his family.

Vince tries to help two people who were in dept with his Dad, date a girl who turns out to be the daughter of an FBI agent who has the Luca house bugged everywhere, and try to keep a friend, Alex, low key about his relationship with this girl who Vince has really become fond of . There also was an inside guy in the family business who was selling off to the FBI, and nobody expected who it turned out to be.

This was a great book that I could not put down. I think I had a special connection to this book growing up in NJ.  It was written very well and I think if someone likes this kind of sarcastic humor with unexpected twists and turns that is a quick read, this is the book for you.
