MATH SOL SCORES FOR GRADES 3, 4, AND 5

NOTE TO PARENTS:

Higher expectations and new testing techniques are expected to general lower scores and pass rates as new math Standards of Learning (SOL) results come out.  It means "Virginia is expecting more of students - not that students are learning less," explained Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Patricia Wright.

The Spring Math SOL's are the first time that Grace Miller students will be tested on the enhanced critical thinking and problem solving, along with the new test-taking skills.  We have worked hard this year to prepare for the test, but the actual experience will give us the most information to adjust our skills and expectations.

Please let us know if you have special concerns regarding your child's test scores.  We expect to receive them late in the summer, and will mail them to you as quickly as possible.  We are expecting lower math scores, but will be working hard to make the necessary adjustment for the 2013 testing.
