As we embark upon a new year, some old challenges continue to present themselves. Cell phone use and possession of electronic devices continue to disrupt the learning environment. According to Fauquier County Public Schools Code of Conduct, students may not possess these devices during posted school hours. School hours for the 2012 - 2013 school year are 7:00-2:45. Please see page 6 in your pink Code of Conduct booklet, received by students on the first day of school, for further clarification. The following consequences will result for violations to the above:
Cell phone possession –
1st Offense – One day ISD (In-school suspension) and phone confiscation
2nd Offense – Three days ISD and phone confiscation
Subsequent offenses will result in OSS (Out of school suspension) for defiance
Cell phone use –
1st Offense – One day OSS
2nd Offense – 3 days OSS
Subsequent offenses - per Code of Conduct
While cell phones and other electronic devices are very much a part of our culture, they are not permitted at school or on the school buses. Please support the school and school board policy by keeping these items at home. |
