Computer Assisted Drafting & Design

Grades: 10-12

Prerequisite: Technical Design & Illustration

Class DescriptionStudents will learn the techniques of professional draftsmen by using industry standard drafting & design tools.  Drawing projects are developed using Autocad 2012 software & incorporate "real world" scenarios & challenges to develop problem solving & critical thinking skills.  This course is the first of two courses to prepare students to obtain a professional drafting certification.


Advanced Computer Assisted Drafting & Design

Grades: 10-12

Prerequisite: Computer Assisted Drafting & Design

Class DescriptionStudents will continue learning industry standard drafting & design techniques in this class.  Drawing projects are developed using Autocad 2012 software & incorporate "real world" scenarios & challenges to develop problem solving & critical thinking skills.  Projects may include the design of housing developments, strip malls, and all the details needed for each project.  Students will have the opportunity to take the professional certification test of the American Design & Drafting Association.
