Give Local Piedmont Offers Significant Funding Potential for Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation

Warrenton, VA—Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation (FEEF) recently signed up to participate in Give Local Piedmont, a 24-hour online giving event to be held on Tuesday, May 5. Last year’s inaugural event raised more than $675,000 for 107 nonprofits in Fauquier, Culpeper, Madison, and Rappahannock Counties. The goal for this year’s event is to raise $1,000,000.

Giving is easy. From midnight to 11:59 p.m. on May 5, log on to www.givelocalpiedmont.org, select Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation, and make a donation of $10 or more. If FCSC receives a minimum $10 donation for each enrolled student, we could raise approximately $110,000, which would be an enormous boost to the Foundation’s budget.

There are other elements that can amplify our donation totals. Fauquier Health Foundation has offered a $100,000 bonus pool that will be shared proportionately with all nonprofits according to their donation totals. In addition, $30,000 in cash prizes will be awarded in various categories.

Because many of the prizes are based on number of donations vs. donation amount, the Foundation is in a unique position to capture one of the Grand Prizes ($5,000, $2,500, or $1,000). Imagine the outcome if every parent donates for each of their children enrolled in a county school. Compound that with donations solicited from grandparents or other family members. The potential is enormous!

Foundation funds will be used to provide a host of exceptional learning opportunities—including field trips, in-school presentations, STEM camps, and more—that our students otherwise would not be exposed to. They will also continue to fund teacher grants that increase teacher expertise, making them more effective in the classroom. Everybody wins!      There is strength in numbers, and Fauquier County Public Schools has the numbers—and we know our parents are generous. Please consider donating to the Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation on May 5. Visit www.givelocalpiedmont.org for more information.  Contact: Nancy Griffin-Bonnaire   540-341-8119
