UPDATED PHONE INFORMATION/STUDENT PICKUP
With the change of the weather; colds & coughs, fevers, sore throats & flu-like symptoms have been showing up in the classrooms.
We are requesting that if your child does not feel well in the morning, to check them out. If they have a fever, vomiting, bathroom problems or a bad cough they should stay at home or visit the doctor. If their symptoms get worse at school, we will have to call the parents to pick them up.
Therefore, it is very important that the information on the child’s emergency card be current. We should have a current home, work and cell phone for each parent. There should be at least 3 other persons listed by name/relationship to child with phone numbers listed. If you have to call someone to pick them not listed on their emergency card, they will need to bring a note (in English) from you & their photo ID to pick up the child.
You are invited to attend:

This year, several schools in our county are piloting electronic sign-in technology: Mary Walter Elementary will be receiving this technology in the future. To create a more secure learning environment at this time and in preparation for the new technology we will be asking all persons (regardless of familiarity) to present a valid form of photo ID when entering our building beginning Monday, October 6th.
In addition, if you send a friend or family member, who is not on your child’s emergency card to pick up your child, please send in a note with that person indicating they have permission to pick him/her up. On the note you must include the person’s name, the child he/she will be picking up and a phone number where you can be reached to verify your permission.
We realize this will place an extra burden on you as a parent but we believe it will help us keep your child safe and we will greatly appreciate your patience as we transition to the new system.
Mr. Alex O’Dell, Principal
Mrs. Lynne Bisek, Assistant Principal
