3rd block: Science/Social Studies

4th block: Planning/ CBI activities

Welcome to a brand new school year!  It hardly seems possible that summer is gone and we are gearing up for a great  2015-2016 school year. I am looking forward to a FANTASTIC  year!

The students in my class spend block 1 in elective classes.

Our academic studies will include Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Reading and Writing.

Every day I will share something fun, out of the box, or weird  about the day, such as Barbie's birthday, the birthday of the rotary phone and touch tone phone,

and, well, you will just have to stay tuned for all the special days....

A fun part of our class is Community Based Instruction (CBI) On Tuesdays we explore our community and discover many resources and fun places around Fauquier County. Each trip relates somehow to what we are studying in class.

On Thursdays we explore careers and job skills. We have helped out in Sears, McDonald's, Walgreen's and Commuity Thrift, to name a few. This year we are expanding our career unit and adding more places within our community that can help teach about careers.
