Bullying is NOT Cool!!
Say no to bullying by being a good friend. If you see someone being bullied, get help from an adult. Telling someone about a person getting hurt is not tattling. Remember there are four types of bullying:
PHYSICAL - using the body or objects to hurt someone
VERBAL - using words to hurt someone; name calling, teasing
RELATIONSHIP - using realtionships with people to hurt others; deserting friends, ignoring, leaving people out, saying you won't play with someone if they don't do what you want.
CYBER-BULLYING - using the internet or text messages to hurt others.
We don't want to see others get hurt. So let's stop bullying in it's tracks!!
Here are some things you can do if you see someone being bullied:
Get help from an adult (IMPORTANT- if you see someone getting beat up, just go straight to an adult for help)
Get friends to help by asking the bully to stop "Please stop calling her names.", "That's not cool." "Hey, cut it out."
Don't keep bullying a secret! Get help.
Stay Calm.
Say "thank you" when called a name and act like it doesn't bother you (remember bullies want you to be upset and if it isn't working they may leave you alone).
Help person being bullied walk away
Stand up for your rights and say "I don't like you calling me names. Stop doing that to me."
Remember a big part of being a good friend is helping each other out. If you see someone being bullied at school get help! Don't just pretend you didn't see or hear what was happening. Fill out a bully report form! Tell a teacher, the counselor, or the principals what you saw.
