The Region IV Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) has named Dr. David Jeck, su-perintendent of Fauquier County Public Schools, as the 2018 Superintendent of the Year for Region IV. Dr. Peter Noonan, superintendent of the City of Fairfax Schools and chairman of Region IV VASS, made the announcement on March 22. “As the regional superintendent’s group, we are so proud of the work Dr. Jeck does, and he serves as an outstanding representative of our team,” Noonan said.
More than 1,000 students from ten Fauquier County Public Schools participated in the Fauquier County Recycling Committee’s art contest aimed at promoting awareness and educating students and the community about recycling. At each school a school selection committee chose the top artwork at each grade level to submit for division-wide judging. Then representatives from the Fauquier County Recycling Committee along with School Board Office staff selected the following contest winners, listed in order of first and second places and honorable mentions for each grade level.
A Disability and Transition Fair will be held at Fauquier High School on Wednesday, April 19, from 3:30-7 p.m., hosted by the Fauquier County Public Schools Parent Resource Center and the Office of Special Education. The fair will feature workshops on Medicaid waivers, IEPs, preparing for college, post-grad options, and special needs trusts. Local agencies and support organizations will be on hand with informational resources.
