The Communications Office coordinates external and internal communications for the school division. The office seeks to
- Provide accurate information to the public regarding Fauquier County Public Schools
- Increase awareness of activities within our schools
- Assist the media with information regarding Fauquier County Public Schools
- Ensure an ongoing flow of information with employees and stakeholders by providing news releases, answering questions from the public, and responding to Freedom of Information Act requests
Five students from Fauquier County – four of whom were from Mountain Vista Governor’s School (MVGS) – placed at the 32nd annual Virginia State Science & Engineering Fair (VSSEF) in Lexington March 25. VSSEF awards first, second and third place recognition per category (17 categories total) and then selects top grand award winners for cash prizes and scholarships.
The musical theater program at Warrenton Middle School recently received a grant from the PATH Foundation to purchase a special backdrop and projector that will allow the group to work with digital backdrops.
The Auburn Middle School sixth-grade Lynx teams are back from a virtual adventure of climbing moun-tains, hiking trails, trekking across the desert and swimming in the ocean. “Our cross-curricular national parks project is officially over, and while we are proud of the hard work we did and ready to move on to our next unit, we will miss learning about our national parks,” said sixth-grade language arts teacher Joy Fredericks, brainstorm behind the project.
