  • Regional Science & Engineering Fair Junior Division Winners Announced

    Eleven middle school students took top honors and cash prizes at the Fourth Annual Regional Science & Engineering Fair, junior division (6th-8 grades), on Saturday, April 29, at Fauquier High School. The fair drew 80 middle school competitors from Fauquier County Public Schools and two private schools, Wakefield and Highland. Keynote speaker was Dr. David Jeck, division superintendent of Fauquier County Public Schools. This year the fair was coordinated by a new director, FCPS biology teacher Chandra Wilkemeyer, who assumed the position this past summer. For the first time the senior division and junior division fairs were held on different dates, March 11 and April 29 respectively.

  • Camp Creation Coming in June

    Fauquier County Public Schools will offer two weeks of “Camp Creation” STEM camps this summer. The four-day camps run from 8 a.m.-noon during the week of June 12-15 at Liberty High School and June 19-22 at Kettle Run High School. Cost is $75 per session per participant. The following camps will be offered June 12-15 at LHS: Elementary K-2nd grade – Lego Storystarter and Mad Science; Elementary grades 3-5 – Lego Robotics, Making Music with Garage Band, and PhotoShop; Grades 3-8 – Minecraft and Drafting Design with 3D Printing; and Middle School – Auto Technology, AgriScience, and VEX Robotics. The following camps will be offered June 19-22 at KRHS: Elementary K-2nd grade – Lego Storystarter and Mad Science; Elementary grades 3-5 – Lego Robotics, Making Music with Garage Band, AgriScience, and PhotoShop; Grades 3-8 – Minecraft and Drafting Design with 3D Printing; and Middle School – Auto Technology, Video Editing, and VEX Robotics.   • Defense Acquisition University Engineering Management Workshop Offered as Summer Camp

    Fauquier County Public Schools and Defense Acquisition University will conduct an Engineering Management Workshop summer camp from June 5-9 at Kettle Run High School. The camp is for rising ninth through 12th graders.

  • FCPS Accepting Applications for This Summer's STARTALK Foreign Language Programs

    Applications are now being accepted for Fauquier County Public Schools summer STARTALK Arabic and Turkish language program. Classes will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bradley Elementary School from Monday, July 10 through Thursday, July 20 (no classes on Friday, July14). Cost is $75. Due to a significant reduction in the federal STARTALK grant, bus transportation and lunch will not be provided.
