  • FCPS To Update Outdoor Mask Protocols

    Effective April 29, 2021, Fauquier County Public Schools will make face coverings for students and staff optional while participating in outdoor activities such as PE, recess, labs, athletic practices and events. FCPS students and staff will continue to maintain social distancing outside and should avoid congregating in large groups.

  • Class of 2021 Graduation Plans Announced

    Fauquier County Public Schools is pleased to announce commencement plans for the Class of 2021. The updated schedules outlined below allow graduates to experience as traditional a ceremony as possible while including family members and friends.

  • Pearson Families Unite to Celebrate Read Across America

    During the month of February, H. M. Pearson families and teaching staff curled up virtually for bedtime stories featuring a mystery guest reader. Over the course of 17 nights on Sunday through Thursday evenings, Pearson staff members picked a story that they particularly enjoyed to share with students. Each night, families signed in through Google Meet for a new Bedtime Story event. As an added incentive to participate, students recorded the book titles and guest readers’ names on their reading calendars and the form served as their entry ticket for a chance to win raffle prizes.

  • Kindergarten Registration Set for April 5-9

    Kindergarten registration for children attending Fauquier County Public Schools will be held April 5-9, 2021. Children who are five years of age on or before September 30, 2021, are eligible for kindergarten.

  • Three FCPS Teachers Earn National Board Certification

    Lisa Jones, a third-grade teacher at C. Hunter Ritchie Elementary School, Wendy Miller, a preschool teacher at W.G. Coleman Elementary School and France ter Weele, a world language teacher at Taylor Middle School and Cedar Lee Middle School, have been named National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs). Out of the 25 Board disciplines, Jones earned certification in Middle Childhood Generalist, Miller earned certification in Early Childhood Generalist and ter Weele earned certification in World Languages.
