  • Vincent Gallo Sworn In as Fauquier County School Board Member

    Today, Vincent “Vinny” Gallo took an oath to serve on the Fauquier County School Board as the interim Scott District representative until a special election is held on November 8, 2022. At its organizational meeting Monday night, the Fauquier County School Board appointed Gallo to fill the seat vacated on December 15 by Suzanne Sloane.

  • Fauquier County School Board Seeks Letters of Interest for Scott District Seat Vacancy

    From December 16 – 29, the Fauquier County School Board will accept letters of interest from citizens of the Scott District who are interested in serving on the School Board on an interim basis. Interested citizens should complete the online form at http://fcps1.link/scott.

  • Fauquier FRESH awarded ‘Active Learning Grant’ from the Virginia Department of Education

    Fauquier FRESH was recently awarded funding through the Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) ‘Active Learning Grant.’ Focusing on children in pre-K to second grade, grant funding will support FRESH’s multi-year approach to integrating more movement in classrooms across Fauquier County. Grant programming will begin by piloting calming and refocusing strategies.

  • StoryWalk® Leads Fauquier Families on Reading Adventure

    Fauquier Reaches for Excellence in School Health (FRESH) and Fauquier Public Library have partnered to bring StoryWalks® to the community. A StoryWalk® is a free outdoor activity that empowers families to move and read at the same time! Each page of a children’s book is placed on story boards along a walking path in the community. To read the book from beginning to end, families follow the path, visiting each signpost along the way.

  • Summer Residential Governor's Schools

    Applications for the 2022 Summer Residential Governor’s School are now available. These worthwhile programs provide enrichment in the areas of agriculture, humanities, mathematics, science and technology, and the arts (dance, theatre, instrumental and vocal music and visual arts). Students, who should be nominated by a teacher, must be in 10th or 11th grade and enrolled during the 2021-2022 school year.
