  • Superintendent's Innovator Award Winner and Finalists Named

    Brittany Hundley, a third-grade teacher at Greenville Elementary School, has been selected as the Superintendent’s Innovator of the Year for 2020. The award is designed to recognize the outstanding efforts of a teacher who incorporates innovation into instruction. Seven teachers were named finalists for the Superintendent’s Innovation Award - Catherine Croft, Michele Dass, Bill Davidson, Brad McCabe, Chris Pierce, Emily Scott, and Michelle Smith. The top innovator earns $500, and each finalist receives a $200 award for his or her classroom.

  • Ladona Gorham Named National Gifted Coordinator

    The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) has named Ladona Gorham, FCPS Instructional Supervisor for Gifted Education and Fine Arts, as the 2020 Gifted Coordinator Award recipient. NAGC presents this award to a gifted coordinator/administrator who has had a significant and positive impact on the gifted students in their district. Gorham will be honored at a virtual celebration of excellence during the NAGC 67th Annual Convention in November.

  • FCPS Expands Meal Service Options

    Fauquier County Public Schools expanded its options for meal service this month to meet the needs of families. Hot meals are now available for pickup Monday - Friday at 16 schools. Pre-packaged meal bundles, comprised of five breakfasts and five lunches, are now available to pick up via a drive-through service at nine schools on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at Brumfield Elementary School on Saturday mornings. FCPS will also deploy 14 school buses to deliver meal bundles to 66 locations on Tuesday mornings. All meals are free for any student between the ages of 2 and 18.

  • FCPS Students to Begin the School Year with Virtual Learning

    Faced with insurmountable workforce issues, the Fauquier County School Board voted August 10 to move to a 100% virtual instructional model for all students through December. The first day of school remains August 24.
