The PSAT/NMSQT helps students become college ready. It provides detailed feedback on skills, access to scholarships and personalized online tools, and excellent practice for the SAT. The PSAT/NMSQT assesses the critical reading, mathematics, and writing skills students need for college and beyond.
- When will LHS take the PSAT?
PSAT Date this year will be held on October 25th, 2017. This day will be an adjusted school day schedule, more details will follow.
- Who takes the PSAT at LHS?
All 10th grade students are eligible to take the PSAT for free in Fauquier County Public Schools. 11th graders can also take it for a small fee. 11th grade students are eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Competition (NMSQT). 11th graders must see the Counseling Dept to sign up.
- When will I get my scores?
Scores will be available online starting in December.
- How do I access my score report?

Students will have an opportunity to learn more about how to understand their scores by visiting with their counselor or when we return the paper copies in January. They will learn how PSAT scores relate to SAT scores and how the score report can be used as a tool for SAT preparation, academic improvement, and college and career exploration.
