    Attendance Policies 2016-17

    Students who expect to be successful in school need to attend school regularly. Please keep in mind the following policies:

    ABSENCESIf your child will be absent from school, please email the attendance office by 8:00 am, the morning of the absence. Please include your name, telephone number, your child’s name, and the reason for the absence. If you know your child will be absent in advance, please send an email to the attendance office stating the reason for the absence. If your child will be out for an extended period of time please send a doctor’s note detailing the absence. A letter will be sent home after your child has reached six and ten absences. A conference will be required if there is cause for concern.

    Please note current attendance codes are:

    • Excused Absence- AE -parent/guardian has made contact
    • Absence for an Unknown reason AUNK—parent has made no contact concerning student’s absence

     

    TARDIES:  HOMEROOM STARTS AT 7:25 Students must be in their homeroom by 7:30 when the tardy bell rings or they will be marked tardy. All tardies to school are considered unexcused unless they have been documented by a doctor’s note or a parent/ guardian notifies the attendance office the day the tardy occurred. If your child is late because of a medical or dental appointment, please send in the doctor’s note with your child to the front office.

    EARLY DISMISSALSAs a courtesy, if your child needs to leave school early, please present a note to the office the morning of the early dismissal. You will be required to sign your child out in the front office. Teachers will be alerted by way of email, if a student will be released early.

    As stated in the handbook, homework will be posted on Blackboard. Please email the teachers directly if you need further clarification.
