    SUPERINTENDENT’S ANNUAL REPORT
    This report provides an update on the school division’s performance and on student and staff achievements from the previous school year. Each household in Fauquier County receives a postcard directing them to the electronic report. Hard copies are also available upon request at (540) 422-7020. The Superintendent’s Annual Reports are archived on the school division website.

    SCHOOL SUPPORT COUNCIL
    The superintendent or a member of his staff meets monthly with this parent group to discuss topics of interest. The council meets on the first or second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the School Board Office conference room at 320 Hospital Drive (call 422-7020 to confirm date). While each school is asked to provide a representative, SSC meetings are open to all interested parents.

    CHAIRMAN’S NIGHT
    The school board chair and the superintendent meet in an informal setting to discuss specific issues with anyone making an appointment through the school board clerk. Chairman’s Night is held on the second Monday of each month at 5 p.m. at Fauquier High School located at 705 Waterloo Road. To make an appointment, call the school board clerk at (540) 422-7005 or use the sign-up form located on the school board’s page on the school division website.

    CITIZEN’S TIME
    Time is designated near the beginning of each monthly school board meeting for citizens to voice concerns on school issues. The board meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Falcon Room at Fauquier High School unless otherwise announced. To sign up, call the board clerk at (540) 422-7005 or use the form on the school board’s page on the school division website.

    PRC NEWS GOOGLE GROUP
    The Parent Resource Center News Googple Group is an automated communication system for anyone who chooses to subscribe. When you opt into this email service, you will receive the FCPS Parent Resource Center’s monthly newsletters and updates on workshops, local events, and other information primarily of interest to families and professionals supporting students with IEPs. To subscribe to this group, send an email (from the email address you wish to subscribe) to prc-news+subscribe@fcps1schools.net, and you will be automatically subscribed.

    CHECKING IN WITH DR. JECK
    In a web page video feature called “Checking In with Dr. Jeck,” the FCPS superintendent answers tough questions and shares commentary related to a wide variety of topics. Questions or concerns should be emailed to checkin@fcps1.org. The superintendent selects topics for the broadest audience, and his answers are archived on the web site.

    The school division website is the home of an enormous amount of information useful to the school community. Is school closed today? What’s for lunch at my child’s school? How do I contact the School Board? Find it all on the website.

    “CONTACT US”
    The “Contact Us” feature on the school division website allows anyone interested to ask a question or send a comment. Once you complete the email form, the question or comment is sent to the school division’s coordinator of information for response or referral to the appropriate person.

    NEWS GOOGLE GROUP
    The FCPS News Google Group is an automated communication system for anyone who chooses to subscribe — parents, students, staff and community members. When you opt in to this email service, you will receive school division emergency announcements as they occur. You will also receive a weekly email that lists the headlines of all FCPS news releases posted during that week — at which point you may click on only those that interest you. To subscribe to this group, simply send an email (from the email address you wish to subscribe) to
    fcps-news+subscribe@fcps1.schools.net, and you will be automatically subscribed.

    AUTOMATED SYSTEM
    Parents and guardians are automatically enrolled in a division-wide notification system which includes phone calls (student’s primary residence only), email and text messaging of emergency announcements, including school closings, delays, and early dismissals. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that all of his or her contact information is correct at the school building level.

    MOBILE APP
    The FCPS Mobile App may be downloaded on Apple and Android phones.

    VOICE, VISION AND VIEWPOINTS
    The FCPS coordinator of information produces an employee newsletter which is distributed to employees electronically. The newsletter is archived on the school division website for community access.

    RADIO AND TV
    Various stations are notified of inclement weather announcements affecting school. On days when school will open at the regular time, school officials will not contact the media.

    INFINITE CAMPUS
    The FCPS student information system allows teachers and school personnel to send emails with school-related information. Campus Portal provides parents with access to official student records and annual on-line registration.

    BLACKBOARD
    BBLearn is a learning management software that permits communication between teachers and students.
