Guiding Each Story – together
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has released SOL test results for the 2020-2021 school year and updated School Quality Profile reports for each school and school division. Because school accreditation was waived for 2021-22 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SOL test data will serve as a tool to set a baseline for recovery and measure student learning growth this year.
Beginning Monday, August 16, 2021, Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS) will require all staff members, visitors, and students to wear face masks at all times indoors, except while eating, drinking, at nap time, when exercising, or playing a musical instrument. This includes any FCPS workplace, school buildings, and while entering, exiting, and riding the school bus.
Fauquier County Public Schools today announced its policy for providing meals for children. All schools in the division will be participating in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) as implemented under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Enrolled students will be provided a nutritious meal for breakfast and lunch each day, Monday through Friday, at no charge to the household. Households will not be required to submit a meal application in order to receive meals at no charge.
Fauquier County Public Schools is accepting applications for the FCPS Virtual Academy, set to open August 11 for the 2021-2022 school year. Interested K-12 students and families should visit the FCPS Virtual Academy website at bit.ly/FCPS1Virtual to begin the application process.
Fauquier County Public Schools no longer requires the wearing of masks in FCPS buildings, buses or grounds. Students and staff will continue to have the option to wear face masks if preferred. The updated mask protocol took effect on July 1 to align with the expiration of Governor Northam’s Amended Declaration of Emergency, Executive Order 51.
