• BUDGET 2021

Taylor Middle Students Shatter the Silence

The Fauquier County Public Schools Adopted FY 2021 Budget reflects funding from the local government adopted by the Board of Supervisors on March 26th, 2020 to maintain a flat biennium budget for schools in addition to the amendments to the the 2020-2022 Biennial Budget by the General Assembly at the 2020 Reconvened Session. It is important to note that given the circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic the school division staff must actively monitor revenues and may need to make mid-year adjustments to revenues and expenditures. Adjustments to the Budget and Capital Improvement Plan reflect the guidance provided by the School Board at their meeting on March 19 and April 20, 2020. Staff will continue moving forward on the middle school plans as reviewed and approved in the February 24, 2020 School Board Meeting.

On May 11, 2020, the Fauquier County School Board adopted the Fauquier County Public Schools’ budget for Fiscal Year (FY)2021 in the amount of $151,996,708 for school operations (school funds 203 and 205 combined) which shall not exceed $93,091,478 in local funds and authorized the Superintendent or his designee to make administrative adjustments as needed related to revenue and expenditure transfers and/or reductions in fiscal year 2021.
