Fauquier Education Records

Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS) maintains student educational records in compliance with federal and state laws. FCPS Policies and Regulations are developed in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Pricacy Act (FERPA), which is the federal law protecting the privacy of student scholastic records. All public schools, including FCPS, are mandated to ensure proper policies and procedures are implemented to protect the content of scholastic records, regardless of the medium.

Please Note:
If the student has separated from FCPS for less than 90 days, please select the last school of attendance as 'School' on the Transfer Request.
If the student has separated from FCPS for more than 90 days, please select FCPS Records as 'School' on the Transfer Request.

Former Students
Please visit ScribOrder website and select the icon for Former Students. All transcripts copies are $5 each
- High School Transcript $5 per copy
- Immunization Records (when available) $5 per copy
- Birth Certificate (when available) $5 per copy
- Special Education Records - IEP (FCPS holds SPED records up to 5 years after withdrawal and/or graduation. After 5 years the records are destroyed per the Library of VA retention schedule GS-21.) $5 per copy
Special education and special services records (i.e., homebound, ELL, gifted/talented, etc.) are only maintained for five years following graduation, transfer, or withdrawal records. These records are destroyed in compliance with Library of Virginia Records policy. CLICK HERE to review the Library of Virginia Records Rentention Schedule. If you believe any of these records may be needed in the future, we highly recommend obtaining copies before June 1st of the fifth year before they are destroyed.
