Free, FRESH, Fun for Everyone!
Fauquier Reaches for Excellence in School Health (FRESH), a Fauquier County Public Schools program funded by the PATH Foundation, has a number of free resources available to families this summer. FRESH’s mission is to inspire a ‘lifetime of wellness’ among Fauquier County children through nutrition, movement, and literacy enrichment.

Fauquier County School Board Selects Dr. Major Warner as Next FCPS Superintendent
Deputy Superintendent Dr. Major Warner has been named the new superintendent for Fauquier County Public Schools. The appointment was announced following a closed session during a special school board meeting on May 24. Effective July 1, Warner, 54, will fill the position Dr. David Jeck held for the past ten years.

Warrenton Middle School to Close - Commemorative Event Set for May 19
Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS) will close Warrenton Middle School at the end of this school year as the school merges with Taylor Middle School. The school has served as a high school, junior high school, middle school and elementary school in our community for the past century. To celebrate the rich history of the Warrenton School, FCPS will host a commemorative event on May 19, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at 244 Waterloo Street in Warrenton. All alumni, community members, students and staff are invited.

Mental Health Community Forum for Parents and Guardians Set for May 3
Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS), in partnership with the Mental Health Association of Fauquier County (MHAFC), will host a mental health community forum for parents and guardians on Wednesday, May 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Warrenton Community Center (430 E Shirley Avenue). All parents and guardians are invited to attend.

Dr. David Jeck to Step Down as FCPS Superintendent
The Fauquier County School Board voted Tuesday morning to approve the request from Superintendent Dr. David Jeck to end his contract effective June 30, 2023. Dr. Jeck will assume the role of FCPS Special Projects Coordinator for the term of July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
