  • Suspicious Incident and Search Leads to an Arrest

    Warrenton - A Fauquier County Sheriff’s Deputy took a juvenile male into custody. A Juvenile Petition and a Detention Order are being requested Thursday afternoon, August 11. This morning a staff member at Kettle Run High School informed the School Resource Officer (SRO) of a suspicious individual and vehicle on the grounds of Kettle Run. The SRO attempted to make contact and the individual fled into the wooded area on foot. Patrol Division deputies, with detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), coordinated efforts and determined no credible threat existed to the school or students.

  • FCPS Kicks Off School Year with New Learning Management System

    When Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS) opens its doors to the new school year on August 10, a new learning management system (LMS) will be in place, Schoology. Schoology replaces Blackboard, which had been the school division’s LMS for nearly fifteen years.

  • FCPS Policy for Providing Free or Reduced-Price Meals

    Fauquier County Public Schools today announced its policy for providing free or reduced-price meals for children served under the National School Lunch and/or School Breakfast Programs.  Each school and/or central school nutrition office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.

  • Business, Marketing and Cosmetology Education Textbooks Available for Review

    Fauquier County Public Schools invites teachers, administrators, families, and other interested stakeholders to review the business, marketing and cosmetology education textbooks recommended for adoption. Anyone interested may make an appointment at the School Board Office by calling 540-422-7001 or emailing Kaye Day at kaye.day@FCPS1.ORG.

  • New Principal and Assistant Principal Named at Brumfield Elementary School

    At the June 22 Fauquier County School Board meeting, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Major Warner introduced Tara Kidwell as the new principal and Megan Howland as the new assistant principal of James G. Brumfield Elementary School. Kidwell and Howland will take over on July 1 from current Brumfield Principal Matt Yonkey and Assistant Principal Kim Holcomb, who will move as a leadership team to Auburn Middle School.
