The Communications Office coordinates external and internal communications for the school division. The office seeks to
- Provide accurate information to the public regarding Fauquier County Public Schools
- Increase awareness of activities within our schools
- Assist the media with information regarding Fauquier County Public Schools
- Ensure an ongoing flow of information with employees and stakeholders by providing news releases, answering questions from the public, and responding to Freedom of Information Act requests
Fauquier County Public Schools will start the 2019-2020 school year with seven new assistant principals – Jamie Edgar at Pearson Elementary, Michael Hodge at Southeastern Alternative School, Kimberly Holcomb at Brumfield Elementary, Eric Kelly at Smith Elementary, Krystal Otto at Kettle Run High, Jesse Rivera at Kettle Run High and Colleen Robson at Fauquier High. Mark Rendell, who served as assistant principal for the past three years at Pearson Elementary, is the new assistant principal at Miller Elementary. These eight administrators assumed their new positions on July 1, 2019.
Members of the C.L. Payne FFA Chapter at Liberty High School won a first-place, two second-place and two third-place titles at the 93rd annual Virginia FFA State Convention held June 17-20 at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. The C.L. Payne Chapter also earned a gold rating in the National Chapter Award Program and will advance to further competition at the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis this fall.
Tom Edwards, 49, was named the Director of Facilities for Fauquier County Public Schools in May. Since then, he has been coordinating the summer repair and maintenance projects at the school division’s 20 schools. Edwards replaced long-time director Greg Livesay, who had held the position since 2006.
