Smith News

  • Dear PB Smith families,

Student drop off and pick-up will operate differently this year.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic you will be asked to remain in your vehicle at all times and staff will assist in escorting your child to and from the vehicle.  Please follow the arrows on the pavement for traffic flow.  Please keep vigilant of your surroundings as the parking lot will be full and busy.  Afternoon pick-up will require a number placard that will be issued to the parents as well as a matching one for your child’s backpack.  This placard must be visible from your vehicle's rear view mirror when going through the pick-up line to ensure staff accuracy and readiness with your child.  Click the link above to print out the enrollment form for a placard for Roadrunner Pick-up (Due back to PBS by 10/28/2020).

    Morning drop off

    1. Drive to the left side of building (follow arrows on pavement)
    2. Drive to the sidewalk where staff are located (between front of building and gym entrance).
    3. Staff will release students from the right side of the vehicle.  (please be prepared for this and do not allow students to exit the car without assistance from a staff member and stay in your vehicle).
    4. Follow arrows on pavement to turn around and exit the parking lot.

(refer to map below for assistance in flow of traffic)

    Afternoon Pick-Up

    1. Drive to left side of building (follow arrows on pavement)
    2. Proceed to the gym entrance (students will be released here).
    3. Stay in vehicle
    4. Make sure the number placard is visible to staff.
    5. Students will be loaded into the right side of the vehicle with assistance from staff.
    6. Follow arrows on pavement to turn around and exit the parking lot.

(refer to map below for assistance in flow of traffic)

We know how busy your schedules are.  This procedure will save you time and will ensure the safe release of your child to an authorized individual.  Should you have any questions, please call the office at 422-7670.
