Visitors
Fauquier County Public Schools welcomes visitors in compliance with School Board policies. Visits are managed to ensure the integrity of the learning environment and the safety of students and staff. Visitors are directed to immediately report to the school's main office to obtain permission for the visit. Individuals who do not obtain permission are not authorized to visit and will be considered trespassers. Unauthorized persons, including suspended students, will be requested to leave school grounds by the building administrator.
School Board Policy 2-3.6 defines safety measures for visitors, including but not limited to the following:
- Doors are locked during the school day.
- An intercom/buzzer entry system is used at the main entrance of each school.
- All visitors are required to report to the main office, sign in, and obtain a badge. Schools may request photo identification.
- Visitors shall also check out through the main office before leaving the premises.
