Budget 2022

The Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS1) Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Adopted Budget was designed around the FY 2022 biennial budget goals Proposed on December 14, 2020, by the School Board. The School Board originally directed the superintendent to focus on teacher compression and market competiveness for attracting and retaining highly qualified instructional staff in addition to enhancing safety and security objectives for the school division. It is important to note, however, that this budget guidance from the School Board was deferred on April 20,2020, after several difficult work sessions due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. On December 14, 2020 the school board confirmed that the long-term goals are still generally the same, however, all planning is restricted to the physical, social, and economic limitations of the global pandemic.

This budget continues to defer the workforce investment goals of the School Board for the second year of the biennium, following guidance from the Joint County and Schools finance committee meeting recommending a flat local budget for FY 2022. Both the county and schools will continue to monitor the local and national economic outlook.
