Liberty High School Student Selected for National Art Honor Society Juried Exhibition

Sophia Boaz, an 11th-grade student at Liberty High School, has earned national recognition for her artwork after being selected for adjudication in the 2026 National Art Honor Society Juried Exhibition.

Boaz’s mixed-media piece, created using wood burning and watercolor, was completed during her Art II course last school year. The work was inspired by singer Hueningkai.

Out of 2,007 submissions from across the country, only 87 pieces were selected for this competitive national honor.

Boaz is currently enrolled in Art III at Liberty High School, where she continues to develop her artistic portfolio under the guidance of Heather Deeney, LHS art teacher.

Deeney noted that Boaz’s artistic journey has been especially meaningful, as she first taught her in elementary school at Grace Miller Elementary School and now again at the high school level.

This national recognition highlights both Boaz’s artistic talent and the strength of Liberty High School’s visual arts program.

Congratulations to Sophia Boaz on this outstanding accomplishment.
