Austin Hundley

Fauquier County Public Schools (FCPS1) is pleased to announce that Austin Hundley has been selected as the new principal of Auburn Middle School. Hundley will begin his new role on November 17, 2025.

Hundley brings 15 years of experience in education. He began his career teaching at Greenville Elementary School and later taught English and academic enhancement at Kettle Run High School, where he also served as a basketball coach. At these schools, he was known for building strong relationships and supporting students experiencing unique behavioral challenges.

He later served at Parkside Middle School in Prince William County, a school of 1,400 students, where he focused on improving discipline practices and became a trainer through the International Institute of Restorative Practices. Hundley also supported staff with proactive behavior management, developed and managed after-school programs for academically at-risk students, and played a key role in creating the school’s Continuous Improvement Plan, using data to guide improvements in academics, student discipline, and community engagement.

Most recently, Hundley served as assistant principal at Taylor Middle School alongside Karyn Spahr. Together, they focused on academic excellence, consistent responses to student behavior, and improved school processes. Under their leadership, SOL pass rates increased in the 2024–2025 school year, and new tiered interventions were introduced to support students academically and behaviorally.

In his free time, Hundley enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife, Brittany, who works in FCPS1’s Office of Special Education, and their two sons who attend FCPS1 schools.

FCPS1 welcomes Hundley to Auburn Middle School and looks forward to his leadership in advancing the school’s mission of student success.
