At the February 12, 2024, meeting, the Fauquier County School Board approved the modification of the 2023-24 school calendar to accommodate the presidential primary. 

The modification changes March 5, 2024, to a student holiday and teacher workday. This decision was made in consideration of safety and logistical concerns, as most FCPS schools serve as polling sites.

Additionally, the teacher workday originally scheduled for March 15, 2024, has been adjusted. It will now be a half day for students, with the remainder of the day designated as a workday for staff.
