District Spelling Bee

Fauquier County Public Schools will host its District Spelling Bee on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. in the Fauquier High School auditorium. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. In the event of cancellation, the make-up date is Saturday, Jan. 31.

Forty-five students representing 11 elementary schools and four middle schools will participate after winning their school-level spelling bees. John Lucas, reading specialist at Taylor Middle School, will serve as the district’s bee coordinator, and attorney Michael T. Brown will serve as the pronouncer.

The winner of the district competition will advance to the Fredericksburg Regional Spelling Bee, scheduled for Feb. 28, 2026, at James Monroe High School. The regional champion will move on to compete in the 101st annual Scripps National Spelling Bee, to be held in May 2026.

The following students are scheduled to participate in the FCPS District Spelling Bee. School champions are designated with an asterisk (*).
