As the Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation continues plans for its 24th annual “Superintendent’s Scramble” Golf Tournament on June 6, Foundation board members, including Fauquier County Public Schools superintendent, Dr. Major Warner, are thankful for unwavering community support. In particular, Dr. Warner extends gratitude to local resident Ann Anderson, who recently provided an extraordinarily generous donation that will fund 20 teams in the tournament.
Ms. Anderson has supported this event for nearly a decade, and she takes a special interest in making sure area first responders and local students can participate without the financial burden.
“Despite not being a golfer herself, Ms. Anderson supports the Foundation’s efforts to bring the community together through this tournament,” said Foundation board member Stacie Griffin. “Her generous sponsorship honors first responders, students, and others with a fun day on the course while supporting programs within the school division.”
The tournament will be held at Stonewall Golf Club’s award-winning course in Gainesville. The Captain’s Choice event opens at 8:00 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9:00. The day includes green fees, on-course lunch and beverages, a post-tournament reception, and a special gift for each player. Gross and net prizes, as well as longest drive and closest to pin prizes will be awarded.
Net proceeds benefit the Foundation’s educator professional development grants and other initiatives. Register to play or provide a sponsorship today by visiting fauquiereie.org.
