For the first time in Area 27 history, an athlete from Area 27 Fauquier County Special Olympics will represent Team Virginia at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis this June.

Raegan Robertson has been selected to compete on the bocce team, marking a milestone achievement for both the athlete and the local program. Robertson has been involved with Special Olympics for 15 years, participating in swimming, volleyball, basketball, bowling, track and field, tennis, and bocce.

Throughout her Special Olympics journey, Robertson shared that she has had the opportunity to try new sports, build lasting relationships, and travel to new places. She has competed at the state level in swimming, bocce, and bowling, and now advances to the national stage in bocce at the 2026 USA Games.

A graduate of Liberty High School, Robertson currently works at Fauquier High School. Outside of athletics, she enjoys dancing, painting, and crafts, and remains active in her community through volunteering and supporting school programs.

As she prepares for the USA Games, Robertson is focused on training, maintaining a healthy routine, and continuing to build her skills in bocce. Her selection reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

The community will have an opportunity to celebrate Robertson during First Friday in Warrenton on Friday, May 1. She will be recognized between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m. on the main stage near the courthouse on Main Street.
