Fauquier County Public Schools has announced the appointment of three new school leaders. Jerrie “Lynn” Holmes has been named principal of Mary Walter Elementary School, effective July 1. Amanda Dorr has been selected as principal of Kettle Run High School, effective July 1. Nick Brousse will serve as principal of Fauquier High School, effective May 1.

Lynn Holmes is an experienced instructional leader with more than 20 years of experience in literacy, student support systems and professional development. She is currently serving as assistant principal at Culpeper County High School in Culpeper County Public Schools. Previously, she served as an instructional coach and literacy coach in Fairfax County Public Schools, as well as a reading specialist and elementary teacher. Holmes’ career reflects a consistent focus on strengthening instruction, building effective schoolwide systems and supporting both students and staff. She holds a graduate certificate in educational administration from Shenandoah University, a Master of Education in K-12 literacy from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in English from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, along with multiple endorsements, including administration and supervision, reading specialist and National Board Certification.

Amanda Dorr has more than 20 years of experience as an educational leader with extensive experience in instructional leadership, student support and school operations across elementary and secondary settings. She is currently serving as assistant principal at Mountain View High School in Fairfax County Public Schools. Previously, she served as assistant principal at Westfield High School and Floris Elementary School, as well as in roles supporting career and transition services and as a special education teacher. Dorr is committed to advancing equitable practices, strengthening systems of support for students and fostering learning communities that are collaborative, supportive and high-performing. She holds a Master of Education in special education from George Mason University, a master’s degree in counseling from West Virginia University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Fairmont State University and has completed administrative certification programs through the University of Virginia.

Nick Brousse is a dynamic school leader with more than 15 years of experience in instructional leadership, student support and community engagement, as well as a background in public service and policy. He is currently serving as assistant principal at Fauquier High School. Previously, he served as assistant principal, student support specialist and social studies teacher at James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg City Public Schools and earlier in his career worked as a policy advisor and speechwriter in the U.S. House of Representatives and as a public affairs project manager. Brousse’s career reflects a commitment to student success, innovation and building strong partnerships that support school communities. He holds a Master of Science in educational leadership from Old Dominion University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and earned his Virginia teaching license through Shenandoah University.

All three principals will begin their new roles ahead of the 2026–2027 school year, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of leadership for students, staff and families.
