Fauquier County Public Schools has announced several school-based leadership appointments effective July 1, 2026, supporting continued excellence in instruction, student services, and school culture across the division.

Leigh-Ann Pullen has been appointed assistant principal at Fauquier High School.

Pullen brings more than 17 years of experience in public education and currently serves as Dean of Special Education at Sanders Corner Elementary School in Loudoun County Public Schools. Throughout her career, she has served as a special education dean, department chair, instructional coach, mentor teacher, testing coordinator, and classroom teacher. She has led work in instructional leadership, school improvement, staff development, compliance, data-driven decision-making, and student support systems. Pullen earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and an Educational Leadership Certificate with an Administration and Supervision endorsement from James Madison University. She also holds a Special Education endorsement from the University of Virginia at Wise.

Jennifer Conner has been appointed assistant principal at Kettle Run High School.

Conner brings more than 17 years of experience in public education with a background in school counseling and building-level leadership. She currently serves in an interim administrative leadership role at Kettle Run High School, supporting school counseling operations and student services. Throughout her career, she has served as a school counselor, lead counselor, and administrative intern, with experience in student scheduling, master scheduling support, 504 coordination, McKinney-Vento services, behavioral interventions, compliance, and academic planning. Conner earned a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia, a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Lynchburg, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences and Human Services from Gardner-Webb University. She holds Virginia licensure in School Counseling (PreK–12) and Administration and Supervision (PreK–12).

Phillip Leger has been appointed assistant principal at Kettle Run High School.

Leger brings more than 15 years of experience in education and school-based leadership and currently serves as Interim Assistant Principal and Interim Academy Administrator at Chantilly High School in Fairfax County Public Schools. In these roles, he supports school operations, instructional leadership, staffing, scheduling, and Career and Technical Education programming. Throughout his career, he has served as a Criminal Justice teacher, instructional leader, and school administrator with experience in instructional supervision, school improvement, restorative practices, crisis response, and student engagement. Leger earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and School Administration from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science from Westfield State University. He also holds an Administration and Supervision endorsement in Virginia.

Crystal Van Buren has been appointed principal of J.G. Brumfield Elementary School.

Van Buren brings more than 15 years of experience in public education with a strong background in special education and school leadership. She currently serves as assistant principal at Greenville Elementary School in Fauquier County Public Schools, where she supports daily operations, student services, and instructional leadership. Throughout her career, she has served as an assistant principal, special education department chair, and special education teacher, leading work in compliance, intervention systems, testing coordination, behavior supports, scheduling, and school climate. Van Buren earned a Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from George Mason University, a Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Mary Washington, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Emily Fenner has been appointed assistant principal at J.G. Brumfield Elementary School.

Fenner brings more than 20 years of experience in public education with a strong background in instructional coaching, teacher mentorship, and elementary education. She currently serves as Coaching and Mentorship Supervisor for Fauquier County Public Schools, where she leads induction programs, instructional coaching, and administrative mentoring. Throughout her career, she has served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and district-level instructional leader, with experience in professional learning, curriculum development, data analysis, and instructional improvement. Fenner is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Supervision and Administration from Liberty University. She also holds advanced training in math specialization and gifted education, along with a Bachelor’s-level background in English and Education from SUNY Potsdam.
