Facilities and Construction

The Facilities and Construction department at FCPS (Fauquier County Public Schools) is responsible for assessing the condition of school facilities, developing and implementing the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan (CMP), and overseeing the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). This entails supervising the FCPS Custodial staff, ensuring adequate training, supplies, and equipment, as well as managing energy usage and implementing energy-efficient practices. Additionally, the department oversees the construction of new school buildings, additions, improvements, and renovations, aiming to provide safe, functional, and well-maintained learning environments conducive to the academic success and well-being of students, staff, and the broader school community.
