The mission of the Special Education Department is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and youth with disabilities so they will have an opportunity to achieve their highest potential. A Parent Ombudsman for Special Education IS:                                                                                                                                                 A person who serves as a designated neutral party who advocates for a fair process and provides confidential, informal assistance and support to parents, guardians, advocates, educators, and students with disabilities.
