Immunization & Health Requirements

To ensure a healthy learning environment, Virginia law requires that students meet specific immunization and health documentation guidelines. These requirements vary by grade level and must be met before a student can attend school.

Kindergarten

Parents must submit documentation of a completed physical examination and up-to-date immunizations before the first day of school. No exceptions will be made. Students must have received at least one dose of every required vaccine to begin kindergarten.

7th Grade

Before entering 7th grade, students must have documentation of the following immunizations:

  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis)
  • MenACWY (Meningococcal ACWY)
  • HPV (Human Papillomavirus)

All documentation should be submitted to your school’s nurse before the first day of school.

12th Grade

All 12th-grade students must provide documentation of the MenACWY (Meningococcal ACWY) vaccine before returning to school in the fall.

If you are enrolling a new student in any grade and are unsure about vaccine requirements, please reach out to your school nurse for assistance.
