Student Devices
Fauquier County Public Schools provide students with Chromebooks to support teaching and learning.
-
Grades 6–12: Students are issued a Chromebook to use throughout the school day and take home each night.
-
Grades 3–5: Students are issued a Chromebook for use during the school day. These devices remain at school.
-
Grades K–2: Classrooms are equipped with shared sets of Chromebooks, with one device available for every two students.
All students are expected to take care of their assigned device. Care includes, but is not limited to: properly storing the Chromebook during transitions between classes and when traveling to and from school, not sharing the device with other students, and ensuring that nothing is stored between the screen and keyboard when the device is closed.
While we understand that accidents can occur, families are financially responsible for any repairs or replacements.
We strongly recommend purchasing insurance for each assigned device. Insurance is available through Securranty and covers accidental damage, theft, or loss (intentional damage is not covered). If insurance is not purchased, families will be invoiced for any repair or replacement costs.
Please note that the only device supported for instruction is the division issued Chromebook.
