Training

Training is provided by highly skilled, certified trainers employed by Fauquier County Transportation Services.

Applicants/trainees receive the following curriculum:

• Preparation for Commercial Drivers License (per Virginia DMV regulations)
  • Transporting students with special needs
  • Virginia State Department of Education Guide
  • Classroom (24 hours minimum)
• Behind the wheel (24 hour minimum)
• Final Evaluation
  • Skills test per DMV requirements
• Licensing by DMV
• 10-hours behind the wheel evaluation with students
• Epi-pen Administration
• Internal First Aid and CPR (American Heart Association Certification)
• Defensive Driving
• Bloodborne pathogens
• Fauquier County Public Schools substance abuse policy/regulations
