Superintendent's Annual Report
Dear Fauquier County Public Schools Community,
I am pleased to present this annual report on the overall health and progress of our school division as we continue the 2025–2026 school year. It is with pride and gratitude that I highlight our achievements and share our commitment to safety, engagement, and learning.
This year, our overarching theme is Champions of Learning. Champions are everywhere—in our teachers, staff, students, families, and community members—because everyone who impacts the education of another person is a champion. Together, we help shape the next generation of leaders, learners, and citizens.
Our success as a division relies on strong partnerships, and we remain deeply committed to building connections with families and the broader community. The continuation of our Family Focus Group has expanded opportunities for family members to collaborate with us in meaningful ways. In addition, our division and school Family Forums provide valuable spaces for open dialogue, strengthening the partnership between home and school.
Just as family engagement strengthens our schools, so does elevating student voice. Through the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, the FCPS1 Student Leadership Conference, and other student-led initiatives, we continue to provide young leaders with opportunities, a platform to share perspectives, and a meaningful role in shaping their educational experience.
Of course, none of this is possible without a safe and supportive environment. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain a top priority. This year, we implemented the I Love U Guys Standard Response Protocol, aligning our language and communication practices across all schools while maintaining the effective safety measures already in place. In addition, we have expanded professional learning and set expectations for all staff to ensure consistency and preparedness in every building.
Hand in hand with safety is our unwavering commitment to academics. We continue to expand opportunities for students to pursue dual enrollment, career pathways, and advanced coursework. Whether their goals are to further their education at a college or university, enter the military, or begin a successful career, FCPS1 is dedicated to equipping every student with the tools they need to thrive.
As we look ahead, I am grateful for the resilience, determination, and spirit of collaboration that define our community. Together, as champions of learning, we will continue to build on this strong foundation and ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
