Future Educators Academy

The Future Educators Academy (FEA) is a college partnership lab school designed for rising high school juniors who aspire to become elementary or special education teachers. Through dual enrollment and accelerated, hands-on learning, FEA prepares students for a successful career in education.

Earn College Credit While in High School

FEA students complete a two-year associate degree from Laurel Ridge Community College while still in high school. After graduation, students can transfer to a partner institution to earn their bachelor’s degree and teacher licensure—just two years after high school graduation.

No Out-of-Pocket Costs

Thanks to generous support from the College Partnership Laboratory School Fund, students pay nothing out of pocket for their associate degree through FEA. This includes tuition, testing preparation, and test fees.

Non-Competitive Application

Admission is determined by lottery for qualified applicants. To participate, students must:

  • Commit to teaching for two years in their home school division
  • Understand that supporting school divisions are dedicated to offering positions to all successful FEA graduates

Hands-On Learning

FEA emphasizes practical, real-world experience. Students engage in:

  • Practicums and classroom observations
  • Workshops and experiential learning activities
  • Coaching from experienced instructional staff for assessments

These experiences prepare students for an exciting and rewarding career in education.
