Health and Physical Education
The mission of our Health & Physical Education program is to help students learn the skills necessary for performing a variety of physical activities and understand the benefits of achieving and maintaining a physically active lifestyle and good health for a lifetime.
Fauquier County endeavors to meet the physical and health needs of all students. Students in grades K through 5th grade receive regular physical education instruction (including recess and class time), students in grades 6-8 participate in an HPE course each year, and high school students complete a minimum of health and physical education courses to fulfill graduation requirements. We have a variety of high school electives available for students who wish to continue their pursuit of healthy, active practices.
Please visit the Virginia Department of Education's website for more information about the Virginia Standards of Learning for Health and Physical Education.
