Students & Families

Virginia’s Profile of a Graduate is the result of a conversation between students, families, educators and community partners, that graduation requirements should be more than passing scores on tests. At Fauquier County Public Schools, we want graduates who equally possess content knowledge and workplace skills and believe students should be exposed to more hands-on and interdisciplinary experiences, project-based learning and community engagement.

21st Century Skills:Communication, Citizenship,Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Collaboration

FCPS educators have been doing a great job of following educational standards to prepare our students. But just like the world is always changing, our methods of preparing students need to evolve, too. It’s time to embrace a new initiative and steer our focus toward practices and opportunities that create well-rounded, life-ready graduates.

Community & Partners

You may have heard it takes a village to raise a child, and we believe we need to include our entire community to properly prepare our graduates for a modern world outside of the classroom. We want to involve Fauquier County businesses, organizations, and officials. Our community partnerships are essential for creating authentic learning experiences for our students.
