The aim of the Partners in Education program is to make a difference in the life of a child through a vital partnership between businesses and schools within the community. The intent of the partnership is to assist and support each other through the commitment of time, talents and resources.

Level of Involvement:

A business or organization partners with a single school or multiple schools depending on the extent of desired involvement. Partners determine frequency and level of involvement.  and sign a Cooperative Agreement, if they wish to formalize the partnership.

Examples of Partnership Activities:

Partners in Education find creative ways to be of mutual benefit. Here are some real-life examples experienced in years past:


  • Sponsored a "Points for Grades" program wherein students earn gift cards with values determined by number of points earned for good grades
  • Donated two collectable Liberty silver dollars to be awarded to top two fifth-graders at end-of-year awards ceremony
  • Provided guest speakers in schools
  • Provided small samples of products for teacher incentives
  • Donated plastic file folders to organize SOL review materials 
  • Provided breakfast for teachers
  • Provided refreshments for a student recognition program 
  • Donated nametags/lanyards for fifth-grade camp chaperones 
  • Sponsored Honor Roll publication in the newspaper
  • Funded student motivation and recognition initiatives (breakfast for Honor Roll students, small items in recognition of academic achievement)
  • Awarded grant for math/science interest program
  • Support school division events such as the annual Back to School Fairs in providing donations of school supplies for families.
  • Making donations to participate in division wide events to be given space to advertise and give resources out to school communities, in return school division displays partnership at all division wide events


  • Chorus performed at business event
  • Students provided artwork for display at businesses
  • Students collected money for disaster relief, in partnership with a business
  • Kindergartners sang at a business location
  • Middle schoolers provided orchestra music at a business location
  • Schools displayed partnership signs/displays on site
