    • Kale is a true superfood! In addition to being packed with vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin K, it is also a great source of calcium, iron, and antioxidants. Enjoy this nutritional powerhouse raw, sautéed, or even
      added to a smoothie.

    • Kale was one of the over 300 varieties of vegetables that Thomas Jefferson experimented with at Monticello.

     

     

    The FCPS FRESH Program (Fauquier Reaches for Excellence in School Health) has partnered with the FCPS Department of School
    Nutrition to bring menu items featuring fresh produce to the cafeterias! Each month, we will highlight seasonal produce on the menu
    and share fun facts about their nutritional value.
